The Art of Safe Driving

Watercolour Graphite and Digital Illustration

I was asked to produce a digital illustration for the Office of Road Safety to highlight the problems assosciated with drink driving. The illustration needed to be able to be broken down into elements an animated. The finished animation was then projected onto walls around the city.

Some of the other participating artists were: Deathbot, Creepy, William Daek and was curated by the Yok.

Fighting Cock

Watercolour Graphite and Digital Illustration 594x841mm

Printed to separate sheets of 5mm acrylic. The prints were then mounted together with 15mm between each layer. This creates an illusion of depth like an animation cell as each layer cast a shadow on the one beneath.

This was displayed in and organised by the guys at the butchers shop as part of the windows on william exhibition.

This was my first experimentation with this technique and i wasn't 100% happy with the result there weren't enough elements on each layer to show the depth. So i rebuilt the artwork with the intention of remaking this but never did.
